Lemonlight’s global presence is one of the biggest advantages we have over competitors and is a leading factor in why clients choose us. We have a vetted creator community, featuring thousands of directors, videographers, and talent from around the world. As a production company, this gives us the ability to expand our reach and connect with new and diverse audiences from all corners of the globe.

One such creative talent, Barney Dick, is a director and cinematographer from London who works under the Lemonlight umbrella. Barney has a vast amount of knowledge and expertise in video production, and has helped Lemonlight produce high-quality videos for our international clients. We are very grateful to have him as part of our creator community, as it allows us to offer the same high-quality production services no matter where our clients are in the world.

We recently sat down with him to talk about his time working with Lemonlight, discussing everything from his favorite project to key advice for those just starting out in the production industry. Check out the full spotlight below:

How many years have you worked with Lemonlight?

I’ve had the pleasure of being on your books for about 2  years now.

Favorite project at Lemonlight?

This is a hard one! There are bits of magic and challenges in all of the shoots, so singling one out is a struggle.

I loved working on the Sandex project; it was just oooooooozing history and the passion of the team, from tea lady to CEO,  was infectious. Then we have the recent work for ABF soldiers charity, shadowing them across the WW1 and WW2 sites in France and Belgium; incredibly inspiring stories framed by the most beautiful scenery, juxtaposed by the remnants of war.

Lump in the throat stuff when the last post was played by a lone bugle player at the Menin gate in Ypres.

Best part about working with Lemonlight?

The variety, learning something new about an industry you may have never had the slightest clue existed. The production support is fabulous, too. There’s not a bad egg amongst you all, over the pond in the USA.

Why do you love the video production Industry?

There is never a dull day; I am lucky enough to wake up and feel incredibly motivated by what I do. Every day is different and inspiring.

Favorite crew meal?

Garry and I have a pre-shoot ritual of Hunters Chicken and a Sports Direct mug of tea, and nothing beats the bonding exercise of a late night drive through McDonalds as we data transfer in a car park.
