Asking questions is a fundamental aspect of the production industry, and it’s a valuable skill to develop for anyone starting out in the field. No matter how experienced or knowledgeable an individual may be, there’s always more to learn, and asking questions can provide valuable insights into the intricacies of a project. On a production set, where time is of the essence, being willing to ask questions can be the difference between success and failure. It can help to clarify instructions, ensure that tasks are completed correctly, and ultimately lead to the creation of a superior final product.

Anthony Peña is a talented sound operator with extensive experience working in the production industry. However, what sets Anthony apart is his willingness to always find out what he doesn’t know. In a field where details matter, he understands the value of seeking out information and the critical role it plays in delivering exceptional results.

We recently sat down with Anthony to discuss his experience working with Lemonlight and the invaluable support he’s received from his highly skilled colleagues, which has made it easy for him to seek guidance on unfamiliar tasks. Check out the full interview below:

How many years have you worked with Lemonlight?

I have worked with Lemonlight for a little over a year.

What’s been your favorite project at Lemonlight?

My favorite Lemonlight project was the Hurdle Socks shoot. The cast was great, and the set and costumes were fun. It was also the first Lemonlight project that I worked on that I saw in the wild.

What’s the best part about working with Lemonlight?

The best part of working with Lemonlight is the people. Besides being extremely professional and talented, the crew members at Lemonlight have all been kind and helpful, making them a joy to work with.

Why do you love the video production industry?

I love working in video production because no two days are the same. I learn something new on every shoot and I enjoy the variety and challenges I encounter on every set.

What’s been your favorite crew meal so far?

My favorite crew meal was from a shoot with Shein at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. The meal was catered by the hotel. I don’t even remember what I ate, but it was delicious!

Any advice for those just starting in the industry?

If you’re just starting out in the industry, the best advice I could give is communicate and be kind. If you have a question, ask; if you have a concern, tell someone. Everyone is there to make the day go by as smoothly as possible, and communication is key to achieving that.
